Looks like Advanced Mazda @ Watkins Glen Cup on the official side for the week and Ray eSports SCCA Mazda Global MX-5 and Spec Racer Ford @ Road America for me this evening.

The only thing that I remember about the Ray eSports races is that I had good races for both, the Spec Racer Ford was a three-car battle for much of the race over P6 or so and that I was stunned to see that I had finished P4, one driver got DQ'ed by a bump that put him over the limit and another ran out of fuel. Nothing but clean races in this Tuesday evening league all season.
I sat down to get some practice with the Global MX-5 @ Watkins Glen Cup layout which led to signing up for a race. The timing was good and I was warmed up, about a second quicker than my previous PB according to the on-board info and a marginally adequate 13 car grid. I prefer the largest grid possible but I wanted to be done with required races for the week.
I managed to put 'er on pole. My heart rate was up on the grid. Top seed, half full grid making a top half finish harder and race wins being hard to come by had the adrenaline drip going.
I got a good start, unfortunately though with a relatively low rated Eager Beaver (Ale Ortiz) sharing the front row (that I saw post-race had done SEVEN of the previous races in a row) that contested Lap 1 at the Bus Stop and made contact with me. Thankfully, though he dropped back a number of positions and I went on to fight for P1 with Jeffrey Crislip and Brenden Campbell experienced fast guy lurking in P3. I slowly got away from P2 and the gap was steady back to P3 around 8 seconds until P2 started text chatting, deriding Ale Ortiz apparently over incidents in the prior race(s) and then complaining about no one to race with and for me to "let him have fun" which annoyingly as I sit here typing this influenced me to be a Nice Guy and let him catch me, knowing full well that race wins are hard and if Brenden caught us winning would be much harder. The last two or three laps were a battle to the end, the three of us separated by 0.378 sec at the line. I squeaked out the win by 0.147 sec. I failed to save the replay otherwise I would have posted a video of the finish.
