Good timing for a light week.
I only have the content for Advanced Mazda @ Daytona and Weekend Warriors league is closed for New Year's Eve but Skip Barber F2000 is calling to me from Monza, which seems like an inevitable purchase so it's not impossible that I'll give in.

Week 3

Tried all week to align a single full split Advanced Mazda race @ Daytona with my activities but very unfortunately it came down to a top split of three with 22 cars and 2961 SOF at the last time slot of Week 3 Monday afternoon.
I believe that I had race pace for a Top 10 but qualified 16th. I felt pretty good about a top 1/2 finish until Lap 1 Turn 2 when Superstar Gold Star gamer Gustavo Ariell (A1.12 x 5370, Brasil) dove into an already two-wide Turn 3 to crush my RR quarter panel and spin me into the car that was to my outside, ending my race and ruining his. As often is the case, the offender was basically unimpeded and he apparently went on to bash his way to P3 with three total 4X incidents included in his 15X total in 30 minutes.
Some consolation is that I filed a protest so maybe some good will come of it.
Afterwards, I was back to "fuck the $40/yr Participation Credits, not worth the aggravation" but now I have an inkling to ignore my iR and SR and take the $40 the easiest way possible to pay for my league tracks. I have had some good official races but there are irritatingly way too many Gustavos out there.

Wow that sucks Tom. Something still wrong about the iR system when you see that happen. I do mostly dirt road now with an F3 race here & there. Usually fairly clean. Short races so even if I get hit, I'll finish the race to get the participation points.

from iRacing HQ:
Hi Tom,
We appreciate you taking the time to file this protest.
After reviewing the replay, we understand your frustration, but we do not feel either driver caused the accident intentionally or with malice.
However, the driver who you protested will either be contacted directly and provided instruction or monitored. In addition, the incident will be permanently recorded on the driver’s record. This is important because even though we feel this incident was not intentional, if a pattern of driving continues, additional action will be taken.
In addition, the Safety Rating and licensing systems are significant policing agents of the service in that only safe drivers are able to advance. Drivers who consistently make good decisions will find it easy to improve their iRating and License level. Over time, safe drivers will be involved in fewer accidents than drivers who are less safe. Those who are not safe will have to adjust their driving to advance their license ratings.
We also offer multiple drop races in every official series to help recover from incidents or accidents. If you compete in multiple races in a series during the week, your lowest results will be dropped from your points total for the week.
If you’d care to read more information about the ratings and licensing systems, check the iRacing Sporting Code.
Thank you for your time and understanding.
Sincerely,
iRacing

Nice. I received a similar reply from them a few years back. Blah blah blah. But, they appreciate you taking the time...
