Week 2

I was able to get home in time Tuesday evening to join the Ray eSports Unofficial SCCA SRF and FV races @ Laguna Seca.
I don't remember much about SFR but FV was dramatic for me.
I picked up a pylon before T2 on Lap 1 which slowed the car a lot. By the time I coaxed it loose pounding through Corkscrew, the lead group was gone. Despite 5 or 6 missed shifts and with the help of the Formula Fords coming through to lap us, I caught up to the lead trio with 3 or 4 laps to go and great luck for me, all three got tangled up exiting Corkscrew and I was gifted an unassailable lead with either 2 or 3 laps left to go. Not much later, I realized that I might not have enough fuel so I started short shifting and using 4th gear instead of 3rd, hoping the white flag would waive soon enough. Unfortunately for me, my last lap fuel was not the last lap of the race so I pitted for 2 liters of fuel, which dropped me back to P3. That's a good finish but kicking myself for not being safer with fuel.

Week 2

It's been a long time since I won a race with more than a few cars so I was very happy to achieve a win with the Spec Racer Ford @ Charlotte with a pretty full grid. I Q'ed P2, got the standing start holeshot and the pole winner spun out, creating a bit of a log jam behind me and gifting me control of my own destiny.
I struggled somewhat the Skip Barber F2000 @ Brands Hatch and had some distractions during qualifying that didn't help but had a good, clean race and picked up 4 or 5 positions during the race.
I ended the week A4.76 x 2893 with Time Trial being the biggest hit to my SR, pushing too hard because it's more fun that way.
