I ended up getting the Gamer Plus kit with one Gamer Plus transducer and the BK Plus amp.
I'm using iRacing LFE and audio cables from the green speaker port on the back of my PC.
I have a great spot for the amp to the right of my Logitech G Pro wheel and the transducer fit pretty perfectly at the back of my rig centered on and behind the Honda Prelude SH seat.
Mounting to my wood rig is with two 1/4 x 3" self drilling washer head screws into a wood 2 x 4" on edge and one 1/4-20 x 2" into a 1/4 tee nut in a 2 x 4 oriented flat.
Regrettably, I measured with calipers but did not note the mounting hole diameter as I was most interested in whether I could use the M8 x 1.25 tee nuts that I have and the holes are 6.xx mm; smaller than 8mm which was all that I needed to know at the time.
With my PC, I had the Buttkicker up and running very quickly using the green speaker 3.5mm port on the back of my PC which is separate from the front panel headphones jack. The orange subwoofer / center port did nothing but I now remembered that there is a setting in Windows for surround sound so maybe I'm on a 2-channel setting. I'll look into that soon because I'd rather use a LINE output than the amplified green speaker output but thinking about it now iRacing has to be using the left or right channel of the green stereo output for LFE and doubt that the same info is also being sent to center / subwoofer channel.
Seeing that the Buttkicker HaptiConnect software has separate sliders for wheel spin and lockup, I tried the USB cable installation method which led to at least two hours of wasted time and frustration with the software refusing to run after what looked to be a successful installation. Long story short, I got HaptiConnect working by forcing Windows 7 Compatibility Mode. My PC was upgraded from WIN 7 to WIN 10 not a clean WIN 10 installation and something is obviously wrong.
I wasn't impressed with the transducer's performance with HaptiConnect and I couldn't find a setting that allowed me to use my headphones outside of iRacing without having to manually change from Buttkicker to headphones in a Windows setting so I reverted to iRacing LFE and the audio cable hookup that I had started with.
I foresee more tuning but at the moment I'm only using the effects that involve engine, rumble strip, impacts (some curbs)and wheel slip (braking, cornering and accel).
I already believe that now there's no going back to racing without a Buttkicker and even though it's subtle at my setting and I'm not super conscious of it I think that the wheel slip effect is helping all around and that having the same effect for the entire tire friction circle makes sense.
The engine vibration is purely immersion and the rumble strip effect is huge immersion (try Snetterton and I assume Oulton Park with cinder blocks set in grass outside the painted curbing to really enjoy) but I also realized that the effect for rumble strips is helping me to look further ahead, less focused on where my front wheels are when I can feel the front and rear tires on the curbing.
I'll probably update with pics and settings as this evolves.
