Ran a race in USF 2000 D class at Red Bull Ring. Plan was to be consistent & let others do their stuff when... Turn 1 a dude is on the right side of the track facing 90 degrees off. I decide to go around him on the outside since there are others behind me. Instead of staying put, the dude backs up off the track into my path. I hit him straight on & lost all steering. Exit to pits, wait 2 minutes or more & end up losing .50 iR & a bit of SR. Without that incident, chances were a podium finish. GRRRRR

Week 3

I was a fair bit ahead of my S2 class, competitive with the midpack of S1 and Masters and enjoying a fun race last Sunday with Weekend Warriors Formula Ford @ Road Atlanta short. Unfortunately, I got clipped in the left rear tire as I was avoiding a big incident and had to pit for repairs and again for fuel so that ended the win streak I had going. The car that got me had been stationary, moved forward as I was threading the needle to avoid him.
That left me craving a good race so I ran a Spec Racer Ford race and two Sim Lab PCC races, one with the Mustang, another with the Mazda.
All three were great for the most part. SRF from start to finish, especially for the last part of the race with a close finish. I ruined my own race with the Mustang and a racing incident without anyone to blame but me following a less skilled driver too close so when he bobbled I got the short end and ran out of track onto the grass and into a tire wall for enough damage to require a visit to the pits.
Mazda @ Charlotte with no chicanes was impossible for me to get away. I'd open a gap through the infield only for it to vanish by T1.
