Looks like Sim Lab PCC @ Summit Point, Falken GT4 Challenge (30 minute) @ Road America and IMSA Pilot Challenge (120 minutes) @ Road America are the possibilities for me this week.

Week 8

Aggravatingly, the two-hour Michelin Pilot Challenge race was a return to iRacing reality after 2-3 weeks of clean racing.
The session took so long to load that I didn't have enough time for a qualifying lap so I started last, P21, in class. There are I believe 5 different GT4 cars and 4 different TC cars so that's nine car files plus the track that need to be loaded.
On Lap 1, I had to nearly stop then runoff the track to avoid a car that looped it in Carousel which put me out of touch with the cars ahead, then I got bashed into at Canada Corner (Nico Godoy South America, A1.51) not much later which required coming to a complete to stay on the racing surface and rear-ended again at Canada Corner (Ray Havana, Iberia, B2.37) while running 9th in-class shortly after the first stop for a tow and 25 minutes in the pits for repairs.
Not so much as a "sorry", either time, BEEP BEEP and a waive.
Curses on you both Ray Havana (Iberia, B2.37) and Nico Godoy (South America, A1.51).
This should have been a top 10 with less than 5X, zero to minimal SR loss and small iR gain but instead ended P23 overall / P13 in-classl, 10 laps down, 16X, -0.45 SR and -10 iR

I won't make it Saturday but hoping to make it this Sunday. Maybe Soltices @ Summit Point for something easier than the Mustang but still safe and fun?

Well, so much for safe and fun. Entered a Sim Lab PCC race with the Solstice with no other class entries for what should have been an easy 0X and zero iR risk but got plowed by a Miata despite my being off the racing line on a straight obviously letting a gaggle of cars by.
5X and -0.16 and I got bitched at by a South American (possibly erroneously) on the Private channel for a blue flag occasion but the only time that we crossed paths I got off the racing line as soon as I could and didn't seem to affect his gap to the car that he was racing with. I started a formal protest because of the language used and so he might be formally taught what blue flag means but my screenshot failed and my video clip was too long so I gave up.
Late Saturday night, I managed a clean race and a win with the Mustang but that SR was wiped out and then some by the race with the Solstice. I'd forgotten about the peril of having to be passed by most of the Miatas on a narrow and technical track. Glad that I didn't drag Pat into a Solstice race.

That's a lot of bad luck Tom. I didn't make it last night - internet was down. First time it happened since changing providers.

Week 8

And it didn't stop there. I did another Soltice race which was clean with a scare or two but that only got me +0.08 SR while feeling much longer than 25 minutes. I fell into a gambler's mentality bolstered by having good pace with the Mustang FR500S and entered two more Sim Lab races with the Mustang, wanting to end the week with a positive, the first without any warmup / re-acclimation other than qualifying. The Mon 00:30 race, I was in the lead from pole with a two car breakaway of the 5 or 6 car Mustang class, completely happy to finish P2 at the worst. I either entered the last corner a little backed in or took too much curb which gave a ton of power-on oversteer and wheelspin and I almost lost it, with a good 2 or 3 full swings of tail. That cost me enough time and momentum that P2 (Leo Pardon) got ahead of me heading towards T1. Somehow a Miata got in the mix (came out of the pits, maybe, it was too early for lappers), staying far left as Leo and I were more or less nose to tail, with me offset a little so that I could see where I was going. Maddeningly, the Mazda managed to lock up (apparently but now that I think about it, the Mazdas are hard to lock up and yaw into me, knocking me off track and into the barrier for a 4-5X and far back in the pack with a crumpled hood. Thankfully, the car drove okay but was down on top speed. I had little to gain so I was very patient and let the Mazdas in front of me race each other. Lost a chunk of SR and iR instead of what should have been gains of both. IF, I had been more aggressive with the Mazdas, I might have caught a Mustang and possibly mitigated some of the iR pain but, as I've said, I don't care much about iR other than staying close to Coffey. Another disastrous race but less than 15 minutes to the next one by the time I stopped stewing on it, warmed up and knowing that I had the pace all night to have won every PCC race that I had entered, so WTH, let's do another one, even at 50% odds, I was due for a race without any problems. Finally, the Deity in Charge (DiC) threw me a bone. Only two of us in the Mustang class, which is not ideal, about the same pace, which in a club race would be fantastic but facing a terrible SR week and zero trust for unknown drivers, I was prepared to take an iR hit by not racing with him to guarantee that I clawed back some SR. The other driver (Adam Bates) secured pole, gamed the start somewhat, which I was somewhat ready for, surely believed he was Hot Shit until DiC bitch-slapped him with a damaged engine (black smoke) T1 and finally gave Tom a break. P1, 0X, +0.08 and +39 to finish the week A4.53 x 1782, down 0.46 on SR but up 39 on iR over last week. Coffey's @ A4.99 x 1918 so it does aggravate me that without my bad luck this week, I'd be right there with him.
