Abstaining from GT3, for me, because I don't have a few of the tracks being used this week, looks like :
Sim Lab PCC @ Watkins Glen Falken GT4 @ Watkins Glen Stock Car Brazil @ Spa Advanced Mazda @ Red Bull Ring
SBC has been a disaster for me so far, not feeling any better about surviving Eau Rouge Lap 1 than the first couple of corners @ Interlagos and Red Bull Ring so my brain will probably overrule my heart and I'll skip it, running around in practice is guaranteed to be fun.
Falken Tire GT4 is the D class series, not one of the series for which I'm shooting for 8 races and my enthusiasm for the BMW remains low even though I don't hate it.
For whatever reason, Red Bull Ring always ends with me getting punted, not I'm a slow old man punted but punted by a stupid kid punted so, yeah, another track for a good time in practice.
That brings us back to Sim Lab PCC where the Mustang class has so far been the best. Feels really good at The Glen:

Cya next time Pat.
Just had a race in the P217 at Watkins. Just hopped on last minute so my pace was off but I ran a clean race until 2 laps to go I think when I got plugged by another car going into the bus stop. Ended up 0 loss/gain on SR but lost .47 IR. Yay. Still don't get why the victim gets the same sentence as the aggressor. Oh well.

I feel you, Mike. It's arguable that iRacing's rating system is the best but it's far from good.
Said system takes the fun out of it for me, too, more often than not.
I only entered two races, both Sim Lab PCC with the Mustang @ Watkins Glen. Both races had one of the fast guys (Christopher Cooper2) starting in back of the 8 Mustang FR500S deep field, presumably believing (erroneously as far I have found) that doing so increases the iR payout.
In the first race, that motivated CC2 to make it three wide by moving to the extreme inside for T1 where from my seat there wasn't room for a car to pass as many cars as he could. Based on his trajectory and time/distance I could only predict where he was so I moved a little left and delayed my turn-in to make room for CC2 but then the car to my left who was seemingly being careful enough turned into me with me plus CC2 probably in his blind spot. 4X and bent steering that put me at the back, 2-3 seconds off my race pace. I finished with 6X, went from A4.97 to A4.69 and didn't have 20 seconds of fun. The other "victim" quit at some point, I got lucky as far the precious iRating because some other cars spun and I gained enough positions to only lose some minor amount of iR.
The net result was that the iRating farmer Cooper contributed to ruining the race of two others for his precious iRating instead of starting up front and racing with the guys his speed.
Cooper did the same thing again in the next race but this time I moved as far right as I could to avoid a repeat of Race 1 but with the pinched entry I was very slow off of T1 and lost touch with P2 so still adversely affected by iRating farmer from T1. Worse, Farmer started warping when he got close to me, which cost me even more time than my planned let him pass. Another lonely race, three fast guys 1-2 sec quicker than me, me plus one guy who I should have been on pace with and four slower guys. If I wasn't so caught up in the SR, I might have had a fun race.
I really like the Mustang but with essentially always only one split it seems like a mecca for some drivers padding their numbers which ruins it for the new drivers and quite probably those of us with entry level equipment.
Can't win. Enter a popular class and get punted 50% of the time which is aggravating AF and ruins SR and iR or enter a limited entry class with predominantly really good drivers, have no one to race with and lose iR.
I have no interest in spending ~$2500 on a new PC, wheel and pedals so that I might become one of the fast Mustang guys nor subject myself to much of the same but in a higher split with the popular series so the solutions seems to be a league with iRacing practice fun or to completely let go of the iRacing numbers. At this point, SR is important to me so that I am might be more readily welcomed into new leagues but A4.99 has been a lot of work to maintain, more than it's worth, realistically.
I finished the week A4.72 x 1557 after having worked the SR back up to 4.97 before the weekend.

Kind of takes the actual fun of racing out of it. I race for the fun of close racing with my fellow competitor.
