Inertia may have me in a bad direction as I didn't do a single lap last week and not feeling much more motivated to do so this week but it looks like IMSA Hagerty, Sim Lab PCC and Advanced Mazda are the road racing options for me this week.

I'm doing the LMP2 race this week. Same track as the IMSA Hagerty series but single car in a 20 minute format. I will change to the Hagerty series next season to join Tom although I think he is running the Audi R8.
Also doing the TCC this week. This new computer is a fucking blast!

Week 8

I got Sim Labs out of the way with another bad race at Red Bull Ring. I was hoping to be alone to rack up SR with the Solstice but for a minute I wasn't disappointed that there was another entry.
Actually, make that about 90 seconds as I wasn't ready for the green which came between T2 and T3 (!) and Fellow Man passed me pretty easily. I saw from qualifying that I was about 2 seconds quicker so I figured that it would just be a matter of time before I got around him.
Well, that turned into FM squeezing me when I had a run exiting T2 with me to his right on the first lap. Momentum car, we have mirrors and I'm not going to encourage blocking so I kept my foot in it and gave him a nudge, my left front up past his RR wheel. Instead of, "oh, shit, I didn't see you" and a course correction, he pushed me off the track, onto the grass and into the Armco for a 3X for me and crumpled fender and hood. On top of that, he called me a "Jackleg", twice. I don't know what a jackleg is but I inferred that it was not a compliment.
Now I was in the position where I would probably at best salvage a 0.00 SR change and lose iRating so I got a little angry and halfway decided that if iRacing is going to reward people by placing more importance on iRating than Safety Rating (read up on how to get an iRacing Pro license; IIRC Top 250 drivers based on iRating and Safety Rating with iRating weighted three times as heavily) then, okay, I can play iRacing, too, if that's what it comes down to.
It took me a lap or two but I caught up to FM and again got run on him out of T2 which easily had me on schedule to pass. This time I was to his left and I moved almost as far left as possible. Well, he started moving over on me again despite overlap but I summoned my inner Dale Earnhardt and FM was last seen crumpled against a barrier. Sucks for me as I took a -0.30 SR hit that's moved my 4.99 target farther away again but it was almost worth it. The first time, I was open to FM being oblivious and unskilled but twice is not a coincidence and I do prefer to punish people that don't play fair. I considered protesting for blocking but I wasn't exactly guilt-free.
Some consolation is that my iR went up a bit so I can lose some in my next races and still stay close to Coffey. If I have an iRating goal, it would be to be close enough to all the Efnet drivers so that we can end up in the same split. Coffey and I were within 1 point after the Daytona 24.

Man that sucks Tom. I just don't get why people bother to race if they're gonna just push you off track. There are plenty of games where you can do that & it's seen as par for the course but paying for iRacing & racing like a douche is just uncool & stupid.

Week 8

Three races for me this week plus a bunch of Time Trials.
Race 1: IMSA Hagerty @ Spa (Mercedes AMG GT3) good race
Went fine, no incidents, need to work on worrying about me more than the Prototypes as I put a wheel off three times for a 3X.
Race 2: Sim Labs PCC @ Red Bull Ring (Pontiac Solstice) ruined race
I got Sim Labs out of the way with another bad race at Red Bull Ring. I was hoping to be alone to rack up SR with the Solstice but for a minute I wasn't disappointed that there was another entry.

Race 3: Sim Lab PCC @ Red Bull Ring (Ford Mustang FR500S) good race
Started on pole, reminded everyone about cold tires, looped it on Lap 2 exiting T2 on cold tires (lol), was able to work my way back through half the Mazda field and regain the Mustang lead against low a low rated driver. I am reminded once again that the Mustang has never made me unhappy.
Race 4: Advanced Mazda MX-5 @ Bathurst ruined race
I like the Mazdas and I like Bathurst. Somewhat counterintuitively knowing that the Mazda races are often a cluster, I entered this race to gain Safety Rating based on my ability to lap fairly quickly and cleanly. It ALMOST worked out, was fine until John Shaw4 went door to door with another car on Conrod and they both went off at high speed. I had let them go earlier in the lap, predicting the inevitable but now I was left with flat screen tunnel vision doing my best to predict JS4's trajectory and its impact on my time and space. I lost the replay which might better explain the whole thing but I dodged one Miata that shot across my bow after T21 but somehow he came across the track after T22 and I had to run off the track to avoid him. In the heat of the moment, it seemed like JS4 was butthurt for having caused the incident and was trying to purposely to hit (again) the car that he had sent off and I was mistaken for said car. I really wanted to protest this one for "unsafe re-entry" but iRacing crashed while I was recording a video clip and I consequently lost the replay, too.
Without that incident, I would have logged a 0X and about +0.19 SR, I only gained +0.07 SR so JS4 cost me 0.12 SR.
I did have some good racing with Jaakko Rinta-Valkana so it wasn't all bad, could have been a lot worse.
It's unlikely that I'll do any more TT or a race before the end of the iRacing week so I'll probably end on A/4.71/1598.
Sunday evening hung out a little with Mike and Pat and watched their Legends rookie paved oval race.
