As I wrote elsewhere on this forum, I finally bit the bullet & upgraded my pc. Have I got a beast to play with compared to my 8 yr old system previously. I've been tweaking it for vr in iRacing & ACC. I can actually read the numbers on the brake markers now. ACC is an impressive sim. I could run it in vr before but on pretty low settings. Now it all looks amazing. I ran an hour practice race with the ai & realized they have flat spotting also. Even better than rf2 cuz it seems to be coming from a specific side. Don't ask me how but it just feels like it. Turning into a right curve & constantly locking the left front tire eventually made the tire shake. Brilliant.
Tweaking it for iRacing is coming along. There are so many options there too.
And as if that wasn't enough, we found a provider for wireless internet that put up an antenna on our elevator leg. So at over 100', the signal can travel easily over the trees. For $5 a month we'll be rocking 10/10 unlimited. Don't laugh. After racing with 3-5mps for the last 10 years, this will be like going from a New Holland to John Deere.
Right now he hasn't capped it so I'm running around 40 up & down. I took advantage of the speed to redownload some of the sims I deleted with the upgrade. A 90 gig download that would normally take almost 4 days took 4 hours. He monitored my line & said it was downloading over 100mps for a few minutes.
Plus he just moved from Montreal to about 5 miles from my place & also moved his business here. I'm getting rid all Bell stuff, land phone, satellite tv & internet that was costing me @230$/month. We also bought cell phone boosters so we can use our cell phones inside our homes & work shed.
I'll be racing this weekend so hopefully all will be good.
