I need some input from you guys. As some may know, I've been on the lookout for pc parts to upgrade my pc. Prices are outrageous so I started checking out ready built pcs. Interestingly, it seems I'm not the only one thinking of going this route. Many have bought pcs with fairly top of the line graphic cards for a reasonable price. I could grab a 3060 with an i7 for around 2 grand. That's the price of the card if purchased alone.
Is it a risk having it delivered? I've always built them myself but for the price it might be worth it. Thoughts? I'm in no rush since my GTX 970 still runs well in VR but an upgrade seems inevitable.

I have only bought Dell and HP PCs, never built my own. I have never had a failure expect for maybe a CD drive, have only retired PCs for being too slow.
Two Dells straight from Dell, one Dell from a used computer store ($150 is currently my office PC) and the HP that is the basis for my gaming PC from Costco on sale for something like $600 ~10 years ago. Costco is superb with double warranty and no questions asked returns within a timeframe. Fwiw, Coffey's iBuypower is from Costco.
I expect that manufacturers get their components below wholesale and their suppliers are contractually required to provide those components so they get them before retail does. At best, we get discounted retail pricing.
I have no experience with Amazon for a PC but Emu recently purchased a wine chiller from Amazon that we sent back because it was damaged evidently prior to being boxed up to ship and that was easy with a call-tag and UPS at my door with a hand truck the next day.
The way that I see it, after the chip situation is behind us, there will be a vast selection of PCs with huge competition and low prices. I'm waiting till then with no pressing need to upgrade.

There looks to be some really good built PC's out there with the good graphics cards. The advantage is they are made to all work together with the choice of parts plus most are burned in and tested before shipping. I'm assuming the $2,000 is a little higher due to Canadian pricing.
I've built my last 3 gaming PC's, well more like same case new parts. My last upgrade was good but now my graphics card is already dated 1660TI 6 gig, so I think when prices get normal a 30 series card would be all I need. I recently purchased another 16gig of memory, even though it's the same as the 16 gig in the PC I can't get it to work. So something to be said for the prebuilts
