I am again eligible for too many series this week.
IMSA Pilot Challenge with both the Honda Civic Type R TC and the BMW M4 GT4 will be at the top of my priorities, especially since I failed to enter a race last week with the BMW.
There are 160 minute IMSA Endurance Series GT3 team races Fri 23:00 PST and Sat 10:00 @ Watkins Glen. I'm hoping to make one of those time slots work but who knows.
I kicked off the week with Time Trials to sample some of the offerings with the intention to try everything that I am eligible for as a funner way to earn SR.

Week 2, Race 1: Michelin Pilot Challenge @ Watkins Glen (BMW M4 GT4)
Finally a great, close, respectful and clean race with one driver in particular, Dom Grundy (BMW M4 GT4).

Merry Christmas everyone.
Things are winding down here at the palace, I've got iRacing fired up but am in and out of the room.
Looking through the rooms with base content, probably Fanatec Global Challenge @ Charlotte with the Cadillacs and Soltices @ Laguna Seca have the highest possibility of getting us in the same race if we were so inclined.
Personally, I want to get Advanced Mazda and IMSA Pilot Challenge (Honda Civic Type R) races in.

Man I don't know what was up last night but I just couldn't drive the cars at the tracks we tried. Was pretty frustrating to keep spinning out and/or hitting walls. Thanks for racing with me Tom and Hutty.

2022 Season 1, Race 10 Week 2, Race 1
Michelin Pilot Challenge @ Watkins Glen (BMW M4 GT4)
Finally a great race, especially with Dom Grundy.

IMSA Hagerty iRacing Series @ Laguna Seca (Mercedes AMG GT3)
Not a good track for racing but I was anxious to try a 45 minute race with the GT3 and had enough practice from a Time Trial to know that it was easy enough to keep on the track.
My goal was a 0X but I mirror worried myself into a 2X incident tally, was lucky to keep it off the barrier at Corkscrew on the first one, losing 5 positions but evidently my mirrors were at least partly justified as I was back to P13 a lap later.
I ran as high as P11 before my pit stop which I had no idea was coming till 30 seconds before the green when I realized that I could only load 60 liters of fuel but I needed around 90. I drove distracted for about 5 laps ahead of my eventual pit stop trying to turn off the tire change with no luck. I could turn tire change ON tire by tire but not OFF. Afterwards, I learned that I could have simply used the mouse cursor with a left click or the space bar to toggle ON / OFF.
My plan had been to run as far as could on the 60 liters and add 30 but I pitted a little sooner intending to get out of the way of the leader but he pitted, too, which was another awkward moment that cost me time. I was falsely under the impression that I was among much higher rated drivers which made for some awkward moments when I was being shown the blue flag, made an adjustment to allow the faster car to pass but he did nothing or took forever to make the pass. I also experienced a couple of worrisome drivers that I simply let pass me.

Safety Rating mining. I was prepared to race and take my lumps as far as iRating but there were no other entries.

IMSA Pilot Challenge @ Watkins Glen Boot (Honda Civic Type R TC)
I was in the mood but probably not in a great frame of mind, worn out from 3 days of Christmas guests, one of our vehicles being stolen and recovered and a guest dog getting sprayed by a skunk at 01:30 on Christmas Day when everyone was about to go to bed but one of my only goals for the week was to get a race in with the Civic.
The race was going well with me up to P7 with better race pace than qualifying suggested, latched onto the lead pack until I got a basically unheard of for me screen freeze and I tagged the Armco in the esses, losing two positions instantly, 8 km/h of top speed, cocking the wheel 20 degrees left and increasing the lap time by about two seconds to get passed by everyone except Coffey who himself had some damage. 30 minutes minus a lap getting passed by one car after the other.
I'm blaming guests maxing out our bandwidth but the replay had no indication of technical maladies. Later in the race, whatever indicator is at the top of the screen right side had a couple of bar graphs in the red, C and L?
The good news is no scary moments from other drivers. The dipshit (Bastian Stellfeld) who gridded in front of me kept hanging back from the car in front of him which was backing up our entire lane to the point that I purposely pushed on his rear bumper to get him to move the fuck up as we were moments from the green.
When we had club races on Sunday, I would run my game PC right of the wired modem with no other devices able to use our internet. I've been more casual with iRacing but I am able to allocate bandwidth by device IP so I'll be reserving most of it for the game PC from now on when racing or I'll go back to the foolproof selfish for 2-4 hours to myself method.
It wouldn't have made any difference but I didn't put in much practice time with the Civic this week, couldn't expect a great result anyway but it was seemingly shaping up to be a good race, angrier about that missed opportunity than the loss of SR and iR, albeit if I stew on the SR, I will get angry as it takes time and effort to grow that number.
