I'm loving the racing potential of the touring cars and regularly see well over 100 entries so I'm thinking about hosting some open races this weekend with strict license and safety rating filters in hopes of eliminating self-centered drivers. The safety rating restriction could be a problem for some of us despite being safe drivers but maybe there's a way that I can explicitly allow drivers by name or maybe team to override the parameters. I could password the server instead but now we're back to 6 drivers.
The simplest way would be to set the parameters so that I know that all of the interested Efnet and GBR affiliated drivers would qualify. For my part, I intend to put in the work to get my A license up to 4.99 but I would definitely like to see over 4.00 for all drivers and the highest license that every one of us has.KJ will be stuck on a D license forever without buying a car, I know that Pat went up a license at the end of 2021 Season 4 but I don't know whether he's A or B now. Everyone else that I can think of is on A licenses.
I'd just go with the same tracks that iRacing has up for the week between the Touring Car Challenge (?) and IMSA Pilot Challenge.
I saw heat racing as an option so there might be a tweak to that that would enable inversion. I need to see what's possible before I think too hard about the format except that I'd probably go with little or no practice because we can use the iRacing public servers for that, don't need to pay for practice time, apply that to qualifying and races instead. We could probably squeeze the whole program into 60 minutes. The next step would be 120 minutes which requires little planning but double the cost albeit it'd only be $1 instead of 50 cents.
Boot anyone if possible who unapologetically causes a problem; everyone makes mistakes but I respect a little humility.
edit: wrong on two counts: KJ was up to a B license and the free Mazda Miata is enough to advance to a B license.
