I didn't see anything noteworthy in the published schedule but I know that there will be races with the new front drive TC cars.
I'm going to set the alarm for 04:00 PST Tuesday to see what's available on the Test Drive service and at least do a few laps with each car that interests me. With a new Watkins Glen coming out, I assume that The Glen will be featured in more than its fair share of schedules. Happy that I didn't buy it last time as that version will be semi-retired as a Legacy track.
Edit 2021-12-10 00:31 PST:
Apparently, Watkins Glen was updated not retired. I read elsewhere that it was being replaced which jived with current and legacy versions of at least Daytona and Silverstone.

GBR might be hosting a couple track days this week, starting w/ Lime Rock tonight (Tues) and maybe Tsukuba on Thurs. Other than that I don't expect much racing...certainly nothing official. Week 13 can be suicide on iR/SR as everyone's give a fuck goes out the window.

I thought iR/SR didn't count during week 13?

I thought iR/SR didn't count during week 13? "Unranked" races never count. There might still be some ranked races...

Porsche Cup usually continues in Wk13 (championship is only the first 12 weeks), and I think a handful of others (road & oval). Not a lot, but the ones that do I think a lot of people forget about it and drive like it's an unofficial race.

GBR will be hosting a 1 hour track day tonight around 6:30pm PST. Track is tentatively Lime Rock (subject to change pending participants). There will be a selection of cars available including a couple freebies (probably MX-5 & Caddy).

I was hoping to jump in with the GBR boyz but I'm hours away from being able to get away with any sim time.
I ran around with the Pro 2 trucks on a dirt oval yesterday including a race which was pretty fun and no pressure with it being unranked, might do that again if its available.
The Honda TC wasn't available on Test Drive Tuesday morning but I tried the Audi figuring that they are going to be similar. I liked it, presuming that I could dial some off-throttle oversteer into it. The IMSA Pilot Challenge track selection may decide whether I buy the Civic but I am hoping for tracks that I like and largely have because I would also then race the BMW M4 GT4 in the same series. I expect that Knockhill will be one of the tracks and it seems like Snetterton, Brands Hatch, Donington Park and Silverstone would be strong candidates based on real world.
I've been checking regularly for the 2022 Season 1 schedule. Nothing yet. I won't buy any new content before I see the schedule.

Gotta mention that it's a good week to get a bunch of race experience with so many races that are unranked and won't hurt our numbers.

I should be able to do some racing now since I'm waiting for better weather to start drying the remaining 600 or so tons of corn left in our bins. I hopped on tonight after over 2 months of inactivity according to Oculus. Bought the new F1 car, Knockhill & Hockenheimring. Still undecided for a TC car to choose from. After working all this time, I treat myself with some new content. I worked for it after all.
I plan to run at least 2 series & whatever we decide as a group for Sunday nights. I'd like to hop onto the GBR server also. Btw, the new F1 car is just insane. It seems like I'm lifting way too early...
Hope to see you guys on track this weekend.

GBR will be hosting another Wk13 Track Night tonight. 6:30pm PST. Likely at Oran Park or Tsukuba.....maybe both? Car selection will be the current V8 Supercars, MX5, CTS-V and a couple others yet to be determined. We'll run for at least an hour...but if the past couple nights are anything to go by, a second session is probable.

I paid for Knockhill, Watkins Glen, Nordschliefe, Daytona, Honda Civic Type R TC and Mercedes AMG GT3 and now have way too much to choose from with at least 8 weeks possible in at least 6 road racing series.
I'm initially disappointed with the Mercedes, having bought it with eyes on using it for the official iRacing 24 Hours of Daytona in January but without a draft the thing is in the shiftlight in top gear between the infield and Bus Stop and will be stunned if it doesn't run into the rev limiter with a draft on the start/finish part of the oval. Nordschliefe would be ridiculously on the limiter for a good portion of the super long straight there unless there are hidden gearing settings that vary track by track. Meanwhile, the unrelated BMW M4 GT4 car barely gets into 6th gear (of 7) at Spa. I expect better for professionally produced paid content.
The Civic Type R is super fun and fully sets up the possibility of incredibly close racing with the touring cars as they'll tolerate a huge amount of rubbing and bumping with the front drive stability under power. I probably did 100 laps with a couple of the other Efnet drivers and it took a very egregious impact to send any of us off track. Week 13 unranked races have been stress free despite plenty of race-enders from the usual iRacing public server over-aggression and poor racecraft plus unfamiliar cars with totally new dynamics for many. Despite that, I had one completely clean race and another that was going great until a third car snuck into a battle that I was having with two Hyundais and I moved over on him knowing that I was clear of the cars that I knew about. My fault but he put himself in a dumb position directly behind the car in front of him rather than advantageously moving left to setup for the last corner at Watkins Glen. 4+ splits make for closer competition and hopefully better drivers once we get into higher numbers but without anyone driving over his head trying to keep up with a much higher rated driver.
I will avoid the Turn Racing Rookie touring car series but it's looking like I'll be all-in for the IMSA Pilot Challenge that will feature the TC and GT4 cars. Part of my brain tells me that I'm enjoying the Civic much more than the BMW M4 GT4 but it might be forgetting that the open setup BMW is much better for me.
I'll be on Saturday night by 21:00 PST, will put a server up to test the team driver swap thing with at least the Mercedes GT3 car. I'll try to get some consensus on which track and cars before I arrange for the server.

Dreary, cold, rainy day here. I'm in the seat from now till ? alternating between Identity Crisis (GT3 cars on ovals), Ridiculousness (Formula Vee, Radical SR8, Audi LMP) and the TC cars races.

BMW GT4 gearbox is a production based gearbox from the street M4...so big overdrive 7th hence worthless for racing. GT3 gearing is set by regulations (FIA?). Each make has an approved gearset it can run for homologation BoP purposes.
Likewise I have no interest in the Turn TC Series. If it was a class higher and open setups I might be interested. I'll consider running Pilot Challenge though.

Had a lot of fun last night running the Dallara at Charlotte oval in practice with you guys. The race was going good for me, had moved up from 10th start to 5th in battle with 3rd and 4th. Until I got taken out towards the end of the race by a guy passing me low in turn 1, he dipped a rear tire below the white line which turned him up to me.

The last two weeks of 2021 Season 4 went well for me because I was very selective about which series to enter and when. As good as it would be for me mental state, I can't get myself to let go of managing my numbers and just go race whatever and whenever. Week 13 was superb for the zero stress racing.
