Looks like Advanced Mazda, Porsche Cup and Sim Lab for me this week.
If I could trust my fellow man, I'd say that the Mazdas would be my main event but I'll abstain until I preview the three.
Oulton Park no chicanes with any of the Sim Labs cars should be fun, Porsches @ Bathurst sounds tough, considering that I went 0/4 in Mazdas while my only goal was a clean race.

After at least a few laps with each:
The Porsche 992 Cup car is not that much harder than the Miata around Bathurst, biggest thing is setting your speed, can't be WOT much of the time like the Mazda but I can't help but think that races will be a cluster despite the C license minimum.
Advanced Mazda MX-5 @ Redbull Ring should be the best racing but the variable remains the quality of the drivers around us. Hutty and completed basically a full lap side by side with respectful driving but a video game mentality would have ended that in the first corner. It's a wide F1 track with two slow corners, it should be easy to share the track.
Sim Lab PCC @ Oulton Park seems like the safest best if driving the Mustang or Solstice, might roll the dice on a Miata class entry hoping to get lucky with clean racing with the typically 15-20 Mazdas making it more likely to finish in the top 1/2 and gain some iR.
I already got a Sim Lab race out of the way, need P Cup to fulfill participation for the season, really want Advanced Mazda to go well so that I might gain some trust in others.

Hi, Pavel.
Around 21:00 PDT Fri and Sat, 19:00 Sunday is when I am often on with others starting a little earlier or later.
At the very least, Coffey and I will be on tonight from 21:00 PDT.
If you add me as a friend on iRacing, you'll be able to see when I am on and which "room" I'm in. My user name is Tom Lory.
Next chance I have, I'll send you a friend request if you don't beat me to it.
I don't know the Teamspeak address unless I'm on it, we'll get you hooked up with that, too.
Look forward to seeing you on track.

Race 1 Sim Lab PCC Oulton Park International no chicanes Mon 2021-10-25 20:30 PDT Pontiac Solstice
Maintenance and track knowledge race for me, stay out of trouble. Three Soltices entered.
Q2 / R2 / +0.05 / -3
Race 2, Sim Lab PCC Oulton Park International no chicanes Thu 2021-10-30 23:30 PDT Ford Mustang FR500S . I put a wheel off on my second Q lap, the resultant time that was about a second off my PB put me P3 of 6 in class. My PB would have been good for P2 on the grid. I was able to abort the lap with the wheel off to start from the pits but I spun and ran out of time so I don't know whether I would have been given a second timed lap.
On cold tires, I was quicker but had nowhere to go to pass safely, dropped back a little bit as P2 was looking overly anxious to make a pass, good chance that they'd tangle. Got a bad break with a lapper that opened the gap head of me but had good luck with a pair of lappers that evidently increased the gap behind from 1.4 sec to over 4 at which point P4 settled for P4.
I really closed up to P2 on the last lap might have been able to challenge if longer race. Either he made a mistake or he backed off to be safe knowing that he had a margin.
Good race as far as no contact and no drivers nearby that were troubling, one awkard moment with a Soltice when lapping him drove middle then one way then the other but everyone else was good except maybe a Miata that had no other Miata within reach ahead or behind who I basically had to block pass at the end of the long back straight because he didn't lift a little or brake to make it easier on both of us.
The incidents in qualifying impacted my SR with +0.03 being low for 15 race laps.
Enjoying the Mustang.
(Q3 / R3 / 1X / +0.03 / +16) , (4.47 / 1623). I did some Time Trials during the week and Safety rating jumps +0.4 when you cross from when you hit 4.00
Race 3, Advanced Mazda MX-5 Red Bull Ring, Sat 2021-10-30 21:15 Learned about Net Code after this one. We'll never know whether Net Code problems are a valid excuse for Paul Bocuse who somehow managed to clip my right rear after he pulled out to pass me on the front straight when I was running P4 on Lap 7. Badly damaged car, IIRC I didn't pit because it felt like I would lose less time at 7 seconds a lap for the remainder of the race than if I came in for repairs. The race winner covered 25 laps so 18 x 7.00 = 126 seconds vs a pit stop. The huge variable is how long the repairs would have been. My standard is to gut out races no matter what but especially if I cause an incident. From that standpoint and not such much as a "sorry", fuck you, Paul. iRacing doesn't review by protest Avoidable Contact but they should, at least pick a manageable and realistic fraction TO review so that this bullshit might be reduced significantly and we can enjoy racing that is closer to real life. (Q8 / R20 / 8X / -0.12 / -47)
Race 4, Advanced Mazda MX-5 Red Bull Ring, Sat 2021-10-30 23:15 My turn to make a bad mistake, misjudged the braking at T3, thought that I was going to rear end Dave Hutton so I threw it in hoping for the best but instead broadsided him and sent us both through the gravel and into the outside wall. Watching the replay, I might have been okay simply finishing my braking and/or going straight but my spilt second reaction was that I braked too late for a car ahead and aim for the biggest clear space. We were running P4 and P5 with a comfortable Top 6 easily in hand, especially unhappy for ruining Dave's race. Had to pit for repairs, finished 5 laps down, similar aero related speed reduction as the previous race, wouldn't even pull 3rd gear. (Q5 / R19 / 8X / -0.15 / -65)
Race 5, Advanced Mazda MX-5 Red Bull Ring, Sun 2021-10-31 01:15 I'm not a gambler but fell into a gamble's mentality here and did another race, surely I couldn't have three bad 45 minute races in row. I was half right with a fantastic close and clean race for P2 between 5 drivers until Lap 17 when Nathan Aljoe joined and ruined the party. He got on my radar after qualifying complaining that his 1:48.xxx lap was voided and how he's done quicker. I typed and almost sent "no ones cares" but I'm trying to be more like water. Anyway, Aljoe set off a four domino effect at T3 that ended with me (P2) and Sammy Altmann (P3) in the gravel. Aljoe and his golden plow went on to finish P2. Another self-centered piece of shit without so much as a "sorry", like the gods divinely cleared the way for him because he's special at his favorite video game. (Q4 / R17 / 18X / -0.79 / -44)
Race 6, Porsche Cup Fixed, Mount Panorama, Sun 2021-10-31 18:45 PDT Mostly good luck, missed by inches one incident and a few more with good drivers remaining stationary and thereby predictable, only bad thing was a double downshift into 1st gear for the last corner, tried to get out the way but the car behind clipped me, otherwise would have been 0X for the race. (Q9 / R8 / +0.09 / +17)
Race 7, Advanced Mazda MX-5 Red Bull Ring, Mon 2021-11-01 14:15 PDT Something glitched out as I never got the NUMBER OF ENTRIES messages nor the JOIN RACE message and totally forgot that I had registered for a race to keep my options open rather than just a practice room to run around with Coffey for 30 minutes. Come to think of it, it should have moved me to the race session automatically. I messaged customer service but I'll be surprised if they'll do anything for me. (DNS / +0 / -75).
Shit weekend of racing again, ended B / 3.55 / 1410, down 0.92 and 213 from Thursday night.

It just so happens that this week saw me entering my 100th race and reflecting that I haven't had ONE memorable race and computing that there's no way that I've had more than 20 without someone negatively impacting my race.
This week's Race 6 has given me a glimmer of hope but I'm very close to the tipping point as far as racing on iRacing. This public room free-for-all is aggrevating 90% of the time.
The probable solution is to join a private iRacing league to race where avoidable contact isn't tolerated and is penalized and using the iRacing public practice servers for practicing with friends.

I raced in a couple private leagues and the racing was much cleaner. Something to think about for sure.
