Another forgettable week of iRacing.
Race 1 was BMW 12.0 @ Spa. Q5 / R4 / 2X / +0.00 / +34.
Race 2 was BMW 12.0 @ Spa. Q'ed P4, P2 driver
Juha-Pekka Pusa essentially STOPPED at the final corner before the start while P1 and P3 were ahead of him, stacking up the entire left row and causing multiple incidents that had P1 and P2 entering T1 before the rest of the field got to Start/Finish. Q6 / R6 / 6X / -0.13 / +26
Race 3 was BMW 12.0 @ Spa. At least
Juha-Pekka Pusa was behind us where he fucked everybody behind him again on the start. I can't remember anything else but evidently bad with 8 incidents. This might have been a race where I ran out of time on my second Q lap, need to leave practice immediately apparently at some tracks because my PC is slow to load the track. Q9 / R8 / 8X / -0.15 / -22
Race 4 was Advanced Mazda @ Bathhurst, Sunday, 21:15. Disaster, 15 incidents, albeit I don't remember how. I'd done a 30 minute Time Trial beforehand easily with zero incidents so there's no way that I racked up 15 on my own mistakes. Q7 / R8 / 15X / -0.59 / +11
Race 5 was Advanced Mazda @ Bathhurst, Sunday, 23:15. Was being really careful only to get taken out by
Kirsten Egan (or her spoiled teenager) who was pushing on my rear bumper all the way down Conrod (why the fuck wouldn't you pull out of the draft and pass?) through the kink and was still there when I got on the brakes for the 90 degree left with predictable results. I factored in the bump draft speed, brake fade and tire wear but couldn't do anything to get her off my bumper. Two visits to the pits, one for required repairs which was difficult to drive and slow another for about 6 minutes which did at least give me a driveable car. The 2nd stop was an easy call as the car behind was 9 laps down. I was in a position to take out Ms Egan after the repairs had me rejoining at an advantageous time but I thought better of it. I was ready to box up all of my sim racing gear again.
Q11 / R16 /4X / +0.11 / -54
Race 6 was Advanced Mazda @ Bathhurst, Monday, 01:15. Trying to end the week on a good note and regain some SR more quickly than with Time Trial. Finished my phoa dinner that I'd started earlier and sat down with resolve to have a zero incident race even if that meant letting everyone pass me. Was looking good until near the end of Lap 15 and
Andrew East3 didn't leave himself enough room and clipped me under braking for the 90 degree left after Conrod. I'd let him pass me earlier in the race, stayed right, saw that was going to the inside for the pass so I braked on the early safe side to make it an easy pass for him, obviously not defending the position myself. In the replay, there's space between us but contact is obvious and graphically represented. Some consolation that he lost 40 IR but he actually GAINED SR and that I gained a position in the end but I was after a zero incident raceQ13 / R12 / 4X / +0.15 / +1
Had basically zero fun racing but lapping with the Efnet boys was fun.
I've mentioned a white board to keep track of drivers who've got payback coming but I'd really rather have a list of drivers who were good to be around but unfortunately my current station in sim racing has me mired in poor company.
Dear iRacing, fix the incident system. Even if it was to simply count zero for rear contact would be a huge improvement.
