Having graduated to a Road Racing C license with the start of Season 3, understanding that bundle buying 6 or more cars and tracks qualifies for a 15% discount and comparing schedules for a few different series, I bought the Porsche 991 GT3 Cup car, Road America, Hockenheimring, Red Bull Ring, Road Atlanta, Long Beach and Phillip Island (Road America plus the last 5 tracks on the Porsche iRacing Cup schedule).
I intend to focus on Porsche Cup with a one full-effort race a week and probably mess around with other disciplines and cars another night or after the Porsche race.

Coffey and I will be on iRacing tonight Sat Jul 24. I'm shooting for 21:00 PDT. Probably Sim Lab Production Car Challenge (Philip Island) but will happily do something else so that no one has to buy any content.

A river trip was farther from home timewise than I expected, made a full day of it with dinner and old mining town walkaround, got home @ 0100h.
Try again Sunday evening.

Hutty, Coffee, KJ & I were on last night. Solstice & Formula Vee's. Personally my gold star goes to the Vee's. So much fun to drive.

I'll be here Saturday night. Pat's out but I think that KJ is probably mostly on base content so that means Global MX-5 and Formula Vees as all of the other free cars are at at paid tracks, IIRC. I think that there is more value in bonding with the Mazda as it is included in at least three series. After some practice, my lap time ranks me #14,142 out of 108,853 at this week's track.
I got a bunch of laps in last night with Coffey and Hutty in the Porsche GT3 Cup car @ Redbull ring. Friends who are getting comfortable with the car can certainly race close with them; very challenging but fun. I need to get a race in probably Saturday based on possible plans for Sunday.
Baz, if you see this, join us on Teamspeak. I feel like we've left you out in the cold that is rFactor 2 and that needs to be reckoned with.
I browsed the Studio 397 rFactor 2 online racing forum the other night. The only series post that I read was imploring drivers to come race if they wanted to keep it going. Far too familiar...
I have an analogy.
Every city that I have called home has had a great burrito shop except where I currently reside despite there being six that I know of and have tried over the years.
Last evening I found myself without anything that I could cobble together for a decent dinner so I set out to get a burrito from the spot that is decent and the only one that I've patronized repeatedly. Easy parking and at the off hours that I tend to visit businesses, there's never been a wait. A minute before I got there, I remembered that the last time, 1/2 the burrito had been processed by my mouth before I was convinced that there was actually some meat in it so I aborted and headed for another spot (Carmen's) that more recently has looked busy most of the times that I've paid any attention to it. It's located on what amounts to Novato's Main Street so I had to park a little ways away, the line was out the door, probably 7 people mingling within waiting for their orders. I'm still in Covid mode so I immediately thought "fuck that, I'm not standing there in a confined space for 10 minutes" and strode back towards my car until I realized that my next option was farther away than the wait would be, so I went back. Happily, the waiting area cleared out pretty quickly except for a couple of people as I hovered outside and I ended up with a good to great burrito and I have a go-to spot.
Like iRacing, there's good reason why so many people are favoring it.

I like your analogy Tom. There's truth in those words. I checked out the hosting costs tonight. .50$/hour, 1$ for 2 hours & 2$ for 4 hours. We could choose a series that iRacing runs and practice during the week and just put up a hosted server on Sunday night for 2-4 hours. We could try to pick up more people & just password the server. I don't know the state of the rF2 funds but if there is any dough left, we could just put it towards iRacing. My .02$

Please excuse my post being put in the other thread, it really belongs here. Anyway, I saw that too Mike and I think its a great (low cost) idea. Increase our visibility, recruit memebers, build income, pay for server time. I'll be an investor if the core group agrees to join in... Enjoy your burrito Tom.
