It took a lot of laps but I managed to surpass the AI lap times.
There WILL NOT BE AI on the grid but they are proving to be helpful in revealing race pace early in the week with no admin effort required.
I did the majority of laps with the #1 rear wing. At the end, I immediately went quicker with the #3 wing, FWIW, as there are other variables.
I usually use a lot of diff lock which for me communicates wheel spin or imminent wheel spin by making the rear squirm around.
The Flat 6 only has something like 37% lock on power so I'm guessing that I'm getting wheel spin even in the fast stuff and the #3 wing reduced it, netting a quicker time.

Got a call at 9pm that my mom fell outside her house. I helped her back into the house. It seems like she broke her wrist & maybe her hip during the fall. We'll know more tomorrow. That is why I couldn't make the race tonight. Hope everyone had fun.

Short of cancelling this series, I've decided that if we have fewer than 10 drivers for any one round, that round will not count towards the championship and will be tagged as NO POINTS.
I'll tally poles, fast laps, starts and DNFs but not finishing order nor points.
Regrettably, this renders the two throwaway weekends policy unjustifiable but it is what is, another drawback to too few cars on the grid.
The positive is that the championship itself could closer and more dramatic as 10 cars makes double wins harder and that the ebb and flow of participation will affect the points. Hopefully, we'll have more than one official weekend but having only one could easily crown a new champion.

Sorry that the real world implications cast a shadow over this weekend.
I am compelled to mention that all of the regulars have for many races now been very good to race against, with very skilled and respectful maneuvering whenever we are rewarded with close racing. Race 2 was no different, with some excellent side by side and bumper to bumper instances.
We've come very far from even the end of the rF1 era and everyone here is truly an expert sim racer, regardless of speed.

Quick update. She finally has a room (instead of emergency). Hospital is extremely over-run with cases. Broken wrist & fractured pelvis. I read that fracture is one of the most painful recoveries to go through. Hopefully she'll come home tomorrow. Thanks for the thoughts guys. I should be there for the next one...

I rarely ask anything of whatever deity might be affecting life here on Earth but I'll say a prayer for your mom tonight.
Thanks for the update, Mike.
